In a recent report, journalist Dean Jones mentioned that West Ham United are eyeing a move for Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy next year. It is understood that the Hammers could face competition in the form of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Guinean striker.
Guirassy’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga This Season
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant campaign at the German club after banging in a lot of important goals for them over the past few months. Guirassy has found the back of the net 11 times and earned a couple of assists in seven matches for Stuttgart this season in all competitions.
The Arles-born talent has been a reliable performer in the final third based on his average of 4.2 shots, 2.5 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even distributed the ball relatively well as he has completed 78.4% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the German club will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, West Ham will have to launch a convincing offer if they want to sign the Guinean frontman next year.
Is Guirassy The Right Fit For West Ham United?
Guirassy has proven himself to be a prolific finisher in the final third. He can orchestrate a yard of space for himself and usually keeps his shots on target.
The Guinea international can even create a few decent openings for his teammates up top. He is a decent dribbler with the ball as well but is yet to prove his worth at the highest level. The gifted attacker is primarily a centre-forward but can also operate as a left-sided wide player if needed.
Guirassy has what it takes to add more goals to West Ham boss David Moyes’ attack. He will offer some healthy competition for Michail Antonio at the London Stadium next year if Moyes can find a way to win the race for his services.
At 27, Guirassy is about to enter his prime soon which makes him a great fit for West Ham‘s needs at the moment.
