Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur can challenge for the Premier League title this season. Spurs defeated Chelsea 2-0 to halt their 13 match unbeaten run.
Dele Alli headed home on either side of the break to help Spurs climb up to the third spot in the table. Christian Eriksen was the provider on both occasions as the North Londoners won their fifth consecutive match in the Premier League since their 1-0 loss to Manchester United. Chelsea lost their first match since September but kept their top spot intact.
The Italian could have created a history if the Blues had managed to beat Spurs. He said, “It’s a pity to stop this run but Tottenham are a really strong team and one of the teams that can fight for the title until the end.
“They fought last season and for sure can fight this year.
“I saw a game with a good balance. Two good teams with good intensity and pressure that tried to win. Tottenham scored in two strange moments at the end of the first half and then after we missed two chances to equalise.”
