In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona are eager to snap up Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca this summer. It is understood that the Catalan giants are showing interest in recruiting the Spanish talent in this off-season.
Roca’s Decent Run Of Form At Leeds
Roca has experienced a difficult campaign at Elland Road as he struggled to help the Whites avoid being relegated from the Premier League. The Spaniard has registered one and two assists in 36 matches for the West Yorkshire club this season across various competitions.
The 26-year-old has been a positive contributor at both ends of the field based on his average of 2.1 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 1.1 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 79.4% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Yorkshire club is set to run out in the summer of 2026. However, Leeds’ recent relegation could open the door for Barcelona to land him in this off-season.
Is Roca A Good Option For Barcelona Boss Xavi?
Roca can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He is a good tackler of the ball and can make some important interceptions for his side at the centre of the park.
The Spanish sensation usually clears his lines when needed and is also proficient at playing his way out from midfield. However, he has to find a way to be more productive in the final third.
Roca has got the technical quality to succeed at a top club like Barcelona if Xavi opts to move in for him this summer. At 26, he has a lot of room to grow as a footballer and would be an excellent option for Barca to consider this summer.
