Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hinted that he might opt for shopping in the winter transfer window. A host of players has been linked with Chelsea in the recent past.
The West Londoners are currently enjoying a five-point gap from second-placed Liverpool. Conte signed David Luiz, Marcos Alonso, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi in the summer to bolster his team’s strength.
David Luiz has been a constant presence in the heart of Chelsea defence. With Conte opting for a three man defence, Luiz has formed an indomitable partnership with Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta that have leaked only 13 goals so far. Marcos Alonso also has been a revelation on the left flank.
Conte said, “About this question [of transfers], it’s important to talk with my club, no? For sure, there are some positions that if we are able to find the right solution, it’s important to take a good solution. This championship is long and it’s important.
“Also I know the difficulty of the January market and to find the right solution, to find the right player. It won’t be easy, but for sure we are talking about this.
“But I don’t like to speak about players that now are playing with another team. I think it’s respect for the player and also for the clubs.”
