Everton will take on Manchester City as they welcome them to Goodison Park on Sunday, hoping to give them tough competition. The Toffees come into the match after a splendid 5-1 victory over Brighton, so they will be highly confident for the upcoming encounter.
Sean Dyche will set his side up in a 4-5-1 formation and could be inclined to use the same first XI for this game. Dominic-Calvert Lewin will lead the charge against the opposition while Jordan Pickford operates in goal for his side.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted XI Vs Manchester City
Defence
As mentioned above, Pickford will feature in between the sticks for the Toffees after shipping in one goal in his last league outing. Yerry Mina will continue to play alongside James Tarkowski at the heart of Everton‘s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
As mentioned earlier, Nathan Patterson could be back for this game and is expected to play as the right-back, while Vitaliy Mykolenko fills in on the other flank as the left-back.
Conor Coady will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye and James Garner will be the holding midfielders for Everton as they focus on making life challenging for the City players at the park’s centre.
Dwight McNeil will continue as the left-sided wide player, while Alex Iwobi looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Both would be eager to make a difference for the Toffees in the final third.
Amadou Onana and Demarai Gray will be named on the bench as they wait to prove themselves in the second half if needed.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Merseyside club up top. The English forward needs to find a way to threaten the Sky Blues’ goal if Everton are to secure a good result in this home encounter.
Neal Maupay has to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on in the latter stages if Dyche decides to opt for his services.
