In a recent interview, Manu Sainz for AS revealed that Celta de Vigo playmaker Gabri Veiga wants to join Arsenal. Sainz said,
“The club in England he (Veiga) likes the most, which we published a while back, is Arsenal. Arsenal is the club. If Arsenal gets into the bidding for Veiga, then they will most likely get him, because he enjoys the football Arsenal play and he would like to work with Arteta. It’s football, and he would have an advantage there.”
Veiga’s Decent Run Of Form In Spanish Football
The 20-year-old is enjoying an impressive campaign at the Spanish club after putting in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. Veiga has banged in nine goals and picked up four assists in 35 matches for Celta Vigo this season across all competitions.
The Spanish talent has caught the eye at times with his offensive contributions as he is averaging 1.8 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been accurate when interchanging possession in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 77.9% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).

Veiga excels at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and has got the vision to create some decent plays for others around him in the opposition half. The Spanish talent is a technically gifted footballer who can complete some eye-catching dribbles in the final third. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so.
Veiga will no doubt be an excellent signing for the Gunners in the long run. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.
