In a recent report, Marca claimed that Real Madrid are set to finalise the transfer of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham. It has been stated that Los Blancos are close to sealing a move for the England international this summer.
Bellingham’s Impressive Form In German Football This Season
Bellingham is enjoying a great campaign at Signal Iduna Park as he has put in a series of impressive performances at the heart of Dortmund’s midfield. The Stourbridge-born talent has found the back of the net on 11 occasions and picked up seven assists in 40 matches for the German club this season in all competitions.
The 19-year-old has been a consistent performer at the centre of the park and has done well to average 2.5 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 2.0 shots, 1.1 key passes and 2.9 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 82.6% of his attempted passes in the top tier of German football (stats via whoscored).
Bellingham is under contract at the German club until the summer of 2025. However, it seems like Real Madrid are well-positioned to lure him away from Dortmund during this summer transfer window.
Is Bellingham A Dream Signing For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Bellingham loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side in the middle of the park. He usually clears the danger when needed and has even got the vision to engineer some promising chances in the final third. Bellingham mainly functions as a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if his manager asks him to do so.
The English talent can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well. He hardly gives away the ball cheaply and can keep possession moving in tight spaces.
Bellingham will no doubt enhance the overall quality of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI and help Los Blancos challenge for even more major trophies over the next decade.
At 19, Bellingham is a generational talent and would be a dream signing for the Madrid giants to pull off in this off-season.
