Putting all speculations aside, Antoine Griezmann has made it very clear that he is very happy at Atletico Madrid. Griezmann signed a new contract to pledge his future to the Spanish Club. Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the Frenchman and he continues to monitor his situation.
Mourinho was plotting a £145 million raid on Atletico Madrid to sign Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez but he has to wait a little bit longer it seems.
Griezmann saw his stock rising after the Euro 2016. France finished as the runners-up in the Euro 2016 and the 25-year-old emerged as the Golden Boot winner with six goals. Speculations increased when he recently expressed his interest in playing alongside Paul Pogba at the club level.
Griezmann said, “I’m very happy at Atletico, I’m very proud to play for these fans, with these players and with this coach.
“I want to try and pay back the confidence and care that the people at Atletico have always shown me.”
