Chelsea welcomed Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a good result in front of their home fans in the Premier League. The Blues made a disappointing start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 18th minute when Ollie Watkins scored for the Villans. Graham Potter’s men failed to mount a comeback and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
John McGinn scored with a great strike in the 57th minute which put Chelsea in a world of trouble. The West London club failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a poor 2-0 loss at home.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 5/10
The Spaniard failed to make a save in the game and conceded a goal in each half.
CB: Reece James – 7/10
James got stuck in with a few solid tackles and engineered two inviting chances in the final third.
CB: Kalidou Koulibaly – 7/10
He did his fair share of defending and was a strong presence in the air.
CB: Marc Cucurella – 6/10
He was far from convincing at the back and managed to create some decent chances in the opponent’s half.
RM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6/10
Loftus-Cheek made one key chance in the final third and was tidy with his ball distribution.
CM: Enzo Fernandez – 7/10
The Argentine sensation orchestrated a few decent chances in the opponent’s half and completed some dangerous dribbles as well going forward.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7/10
Kovacic struggled to protect his backline in the lead-up to the two Aston Villa goals. However, he was a threat in the final third.
LM: Ben Chilwell – 6.5/10
He earned possession back once for Chelsea and was a constant menace in the opposition half.
RAM: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10
Havertz caused a lot of problems for the Aston Villa defenders but failed to find the back of the net.
LAM: Mykhailo Mudryk – 6/10
He retained possession well but lacked quality on the attacking end of the pitch.
ST: Joao Felix – 8/10
Felix made plenty of promising runs with the ball and did everything but score this evening.

He produced a nice cameo off the bench.

Pulisic had a couple of lively moments in the game.
