Chelsea welcomed Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a good result in front of their home fans in the Premier League. The Blues made a disappointing start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 18th minute when Ollie Watkins scored for the Villans. Graham Potter’s men failed to mount a comeback and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

John McGinn scored with a great strike in the 57th minute which put Chelsea in a world of trouble. The West London club failed to mount a comeback and crashed to a poor 2-0 loss at home.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Villans.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 5/10

The Spaniard failed to make a save in the game and conceded a goal in each half.

CB: Reece James – 7/10

James got stuck in with a few solid tackles and engineered two inviting chances in the final third.

CB: Kalidou Koulibaly – 7/10

He did his fair share of defending and was a strong presence in the air.

CB: Marc Cucurella – 6/10

He was far from convincing at the back and managed to create some decent chances in the opponent’s half.

RM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6/10

Loftus-Cheek made one key chance in the final third and was tidy with his ball distribution.

CM: Enzo Fernandez – 7/10

The Argentine sensation orchestrated a few decent chances in the opponent’s half and completed some dangerous dribbles as well going forward.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7/10

Kovacic struggled to protect his backline in the lead-up to the two Aston Villa goals. However, he was a threat in the final third.

LM: Ben Chilwell – 6.5/10

He earned possession back once for Chelsea and was a constant menace in the opposition half.

RAM: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10

Havertz caused a lot of problems for the Aston Villa defenders but failed to find the back of the net.

LAM: Mykhailo Mudryk – 6/10

He retained possession well but lacked quality on the attacking end of the pitch.

ST: Joao Felix – 8/10

Felix made plenty of promising runs with the ball and did everything but score this evening.

The Frenchman got stuck in with some solid tackles and made one good chance in the final third.

RW: Noni Madueke – 7/10
