Chelsea will clash heads with Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, hoping to turn the tie around in the second leg. The visitors will be coming into the match on the back of a 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig, whereas the Blues recorded a 1-0 win against Leeds United.
Graham Potter will probably opt for the 3-5-2 formation; however, he is expected to make a couple of changes for the upcoming contest as Trevoh Chalobah looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
3-5-2 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Borussia Dortmund
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to start between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The Spanish shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Tuesday.
Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to start at the heart of Blues’ backline, whereas Trevoh Chalobah will feature at the left centre-back spot. Wesley Fofana will fulfil the right centre-back position.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Mateo Kovacic might fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the former occupying a more central role. The pair would be looking to dominate the midfield proceedings.
Ben Chilwell might start at the left wing-back position, whereas Reece James will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back. The duo would be expected to stretch Chelsea’s attacks in the opposition half.
Joao Felix might slot in as the attacking midfielder.
Mykhaylo Mudryk will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could be brought on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz will slot into the striker roles. The duo would be determined to find the back of the net when they face off against the Dortmund defence that has conceded just two goals in their last five matches across all competitions.
Noni Madueke might come on to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes.
