Chelsea will lock horns with Liverpool when they travel to Anfield on Saturday night hoping to win all three points in this away encounter. The Blues will come into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace so they will be looking to produce a better performance in this weekend’s contest.
Graham Potter will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation and he is expected to name a strong first XI for this away encounter. We can expect Kai Havertz to continue leading the line against the opposition, however, Benoit Badiashile will drop to the bench making way for Kalidou Koulibaly to play from the start.
3-4-3 Chelsea Predicted XI Vs Liverpool
Kepa Arrizabalaga will continue to operate in between the sticks for the Blues after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Potter will allow Thiago Silva to form the three-man defence with Trevor Chalobah and Kalidou Koulibaly at the heart of the Blues backline, as they try to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field throughout the game.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho will anchor the midfield for the Blues as they look to dominate possession at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Marc Cucurella will feature on the right and left flank out in the wide positions, respectively, looking to get forward to stretch the opposition in attack and keeping their shape defensively.
Conor Gallagher might come on in the second half to impact the game if Potter calls upon his services.
Attack
Hakim Ziyech will keep his place as he operates in the right wing while Mason Mount should start at the opposite flank. Both will take responsibility for creating some inviting chances for Chelsea in front of the goal and provide support from the wide areas.
As mentioned earlier, Kai Havertz will continue to spearhead the West London club’s attack up top. He will have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the opposition centre-backs this weekend.
Mykhaylo Mudryk may be in line for his debut as the youngster takes a place on the bench hoping to provide cover in the final third.
