In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Real Madrid could face stiff competition for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. It has been claimed that Los Blancos will have to rival Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to acquire the services of the French forward.
Mbappe’s Excellent Numbers In Both Club And International Football This Season
Mbappe is having another outstanding campaign for both his club and country as he has produced several match-winning performances in the final third. The France international recently scored a hattrick in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final but still ended up tasting a bitter defeat on penalties.
The 24-year-old has banged in 29 goals and picked up seven assists in 32 matches for France and Paris Saint-Germain this season across all competitions. Mbappe has been a joy to watch on the attacking third of the field based on his average of 4.3 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 84% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Parc des Princes will run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, Los Blancos will have to make a big-money move if they are serious about winning the race for him.
Is Kylian Mbappe A Dream Option For Real Madrid?
Mbappe has got the pace to get in behind the opponent’s backline a handful of times during a game and is an excellent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. He has got the vision to cut open the opposition defence with some decisive passes in the final third and seems to be getting better with each season. The France international mainly operates as a centre-forward but can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if his manager asks him to do so.
At the moment, Mbappe remains one of the most feared forwards in world football. Therefore, he will be a dream option for Los Blancos to pursue next year.
We can expect Mbappe to add plenty of pace and goals to Carlo Ancelotti‘s attack at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Furthermore, he could form a brilliant attacking partnership with Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema at the Madrid club in the coming seasons.
Thus, Ancelotti should think about stepping up his pursuit to land the French superstar despite failing to land him last summer.
