In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Ignazio Genuardi claimed that Aston Villa are among the clubs hoping to land Watford ace Ismaila Sarr. It has been revealed that the Villans could face competition in the form of Everton and Crystal Palace in pursuit of the Senegalese winger.
En plus de Villa et Everton, #Crystal #Palace se penche aussi sur le cas de l’ancien Messin et Rennais I.#Sarr (#Watford). L’international sénégalais pourrait faire l’objet d’une offensive lors du Mercato d’hiver. #Mercato

Sarr’s Impressive Run Of Form In English Football
Sarr is having a decent campaign with the Hornets as he has continued to perform at a high level on the right side of their attack. The 24-year-old has registered six goals and three assists in 17 matches for Watford this season on all fronts.
The 52-time Senegal international has given a good account of himself in the final third based on his average of 2.1 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in EFL Championship. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from the back after making 81.2% of his attempted passes in the second tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Vicarage Road is set to run out in the summer of 2024. Hence, it makes sense for the Villans to launch a cut-price move for Sarr next summer.
Is Sarr The Right Choice For Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery?
Sarr can use his pace to get in behind the opponent’s backline and is usually a decent dribbler with the ball as well. He can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. Sarr is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play on the left wing or as a striker down the middle if his manager asks him to do so.
Furthermore, the Senegal international is a good playmaker in the final third. However, he has to find a way to be more consistent at the highest level which he has previously failed to do during his time in the Premier League.
At 24, Sarr’s best years are ahead of him, so he is well-equipped to be a success story at Villa Park if Unai Emery can devise a way to get him on board next year.
We can expect Sarr to add more pace and goals to Aston Villa‘s frontline and offer some serious competition for Leon Bailey, Philippe Coutinho and Emiliano Buendia for a regular starting spot at the West Midlands club. With all things considered, the Watford speedster will be a decent choice for the Villans to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign.
