Laurent Koscielny has claimed that Arsenal are eyeing the Premier League title after their last-gasp win over West Brom. After their opening day loss against Liverpool, Arsenal were on a 13 match unbeaten run in the Premier League before losing successive matches against Everton and Manchester City.
Olivier Giroud again turned to be the saviour of the Gunners as his looping header from a Mesut Ozil cross against the Baggies give the North London side some breathing space.
Giroud who has been playing the second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez this season was handed his first league start by Arsene Wenger. The win keeps Arsenal in striking distance of Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The French defender said, “The confidence will come back when you win and the most important thing is to continue to win games in a row so that hopefully we can get into the first position. We lost the first game of the season and we came back with a good run and a lot of wins.
“We lost two games in a week last week and it was very important to come back with a win. We kept our calm and we know you can always find a solution at the beginning or end of games against teams like West Brom. [This time] it was a late goal.”
