West Ham United will face Anderlecht again on Thursday night as they welcome them to the London Stadium for the Europa League match-up. The Hammers recorded a narrow 1-0 win against the Belgian outfit in the reverse fixture last week. They have gained some confidence coming into this match as they defeated Fulham 3-1 in their last outing.
David Moyes would probably opt for the 3-4-1-2 formation allowing Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio to lead the charge against the opposition while Alphonse Areola operates in goal.
3-4-1-2 West Ham United Predicted XI Vs Anderlecht
Defence
Alphonse Areola will function in between the sticks for the East London club while Łukasz Fabiański gets a rest on the bench. Kurt Zouma will form a centre-half partnership with Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna as Moyes names a three-man defence at the heart of West Ham’s backline looking to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench as they wait for an opportunity to express themselves in the defensive third.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice will anchor the midfield for the Hammers as they try to dominate at the centre of the park and efficiently distribute the ball to their teammates.
Emerson Palmieri will function as the left-sided wide player while Vladimir Coufal focuses on putting in a productive display from the right.
Lucas Paqeuta will operate in the number ten position and would have to carry most of the creative workload for his side as he looks to make some decisive passes down the final third.
Manuel Lanzini will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second half if Moyes decides to call upon his services.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca will form a two-man strike team to carry most of the goal-scoring burden up top. Both of them will need to be sharp and productive in front of the goal if they hope to secure all three points.
Jarod Bowen will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages of the game if West Ham are in need of a goal by then.
