According to Liverpool Echo, Jude Bellingham is being reportedly linked to a move to Anfield as the young midfielder continues to impress in the central areas of the park. It is understood that the Reds had identified him as a potential target in the summer transfer window but a deal could not be materialised to acquire his signature.
If the Merseyside club wish to go for him in the next transfer window then they would have to offer in the region of £100m to convince Borussia Dortmund to sell him.
Bellingham’s Impressive Numbers For Dortmund Last Season
Bellingham had a terrific campaign at Dortmund recently as he was responsible for putting in several influential displays at the centre of their midfield. The talented teenager scored six goals and grabbed 14 assists in 45 appearances for the german outfit last season across all fronts.
The 19-year-old proved his worth as a consistent and reliable performer by averaging 1.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.4 shots, 1.2 interceptions and 1.7 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He even took care of possession when playing his way out from the back, completing 83.7% of his attempted passes in the German top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Should Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Move In For Him?
Bellingham has a solid presence in the centre of the park as he doesn’t mind putting his foot into a tackle. He can shield the backline pretty well and has got the vision to create a handful of promising chances in the attacking end of the field when he’s on the front foot. Furthermore, he excels at keeping hold of the ball and distributing possession to his teammates.
The English youngster doesn’t hesitate in taking a shot at goal from a distance. At 19, he has already showcased his talents and has got great potential to grow further. He would be a decent fit for Jurgen Klopp’s playstyle at Anfield.
We can expect the Dortmund star to add more goals and creativity to Liverpool‘s midfield. Therefore, the Reds would be wise to move in for Bellingham in the next transfer window as he could help them resolve their midfield situation which has been plagued by injuries.
