Chelsea entertained LOSC Lille at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they looked to earn a positive result at home. The Blues made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the eighth minute courtesy of Kai Havertz’s good header. Thomas Tuchel’s men controlled the game well and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
The home side grew stronger in the second half and doubled their advantage just after the hour mark when Christian Pulisic scored with a brilliant finish. The match ended with Chelsea earning an impressive 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

Mendy made a couple of good saves during the game and secured an easy clean sheet at home.

He made two important interceptions at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring a goal.

The Brazilian centre-back cleared the danger when needed and even blocked a couple of shots. He will be quite happy with the clean sheet tonight.
CB: Antonio Rudiger – 7/10
Rudiger was strong in the air and made several clearances during the game to keep his clean sheet intact.
RM: Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10
The Spaniard was solid at the back and managed to create one good chance in the final third.
CM: N’Golo Kante – 8/10
Kante anchored the midfield well and dominated the game at the centre of the park. He ended the game with an assist to his name.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10
He made a couple of crunching tackles but struggled to get a foothold in the game.
LM: Marcos Alonso – 8/10
Alonso did his fair share of defending and made a few clever runs with the ball down the left flank.
RW: Hakim Ziyech – 7/10
He caused a lot of problems for the Lille defenders and has got an assist to show for his efforts. However, Ziyech came off injured in the 59th minute.
ST: Kai Havertz – 7.5/10
Havertz was a constant menace in the final third and managed to net Chelsea’s opening goal with a solid header.
LW: Christian Pulisic – 8/10
He was always looking to run with the ball and ended up scoring his team’s second goal with a great finish.

Loftus-Cheek added some energy to Chelsea’s midfield.

He anchored the midfield well after coming off the bench.
