Chelsea entertained Chesterfield at Stamford Bridge earlier this evening as they hoped to pick up a positive result at home and progress into the next round of the FA Cup. The Blues took the lead in the sixth minute courtesy of Timo Werner’s tap-in from close range. Callum Hudson-Odoi doubled the home team’s advantage in the 18th minute with a great strike before Romelu Lukaku made it 3-0 to Chelsea just two minutes later. The West London outfit were not done yet as they scored again in the 39th minute via Andreas Christensen’s header which meant that Thomas Tuchel’s men went into the half-time break 4-0 up on the scoreline.
Hakim Ziyech got his name on the scoresheet from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. However, Chesterfield netted a consolation goal courtesy of Akwasi Asante’s tap-in from close range as the FA Cup contest finished 5-1 in favour of the Blues.

He was a constant menace in the final third and has got a goal from the penalty spot to show for his efforts this evening.
