A horrible week for Manchester City comes to an end and they will blame their horrible luck and absolute shocker of a defence for the 4-2 scoreline. A frenetic opening 20 minutes saw Leicester City race ahead to a 3-0 lead and realistically speaking there was no return from that for the Sky Blues. They controlled the game statistics wise from then on but there was only one team who were really in control ever since the 5th minute. Another late flurry of goals saw the Foxes score one and City twice but it was too little and too late.
With December looking ominous for the Sky Blues, let us in the meanwhile see how the players performed on the day.
BRAVO- 3/10
Letting go of Hart and getting him makes absolutely no sense now. Can never be certain, but City would probably have been at least 3 points better off if the City legend was still around.
SAGNA- 4/10
Not a centre-back. Does not have all the attributes to be one. Still the best in that position on the field and perhaps in the whole squad apart from a perennially injured Kompany. Says a lot about the rearguard.
STONES- 1/10
Another shocker. Have Chelsea dodged a bullet here? Needs time, yes. But then why is he asked to lead Kolarov and Sagna as centre-back partners. Absolute chaos.
KOLAROV- 2/10
His goal and assist fetch him two points. Not a defender, at least not a centre-back. Just not good enough anymore. Will surely make way in the summer.
ZABALETA- 4/10
Tried his best but the absolute mediocrity surrounding him left its effect on the valiant warrior. Will be used in future but probably will be his last season at the club.
FERNANDO- 1/10
Not an inch on Fernandinho. Probably a bit harsh but going by the display in the match, absolute tatters. Nervous passing. Slow and dwindling on the ball. An almost angry and hammered backpass to Stones near the goal line defied logic.
DE BRUYNE- 3/10
Off day along with the whole team. Passes going astray. Slimani on the other side looked world-class compared to the usually brilliant Belgian. Got innumerable opportunities. Could not make it count.
SILVA- 4/10
Kept prodding and knocking on the stubborn and well organised Leicester defence. But to no avail. Frustrating display.
GUNDOGAN- 2/10
Anonymous. Horrible outing in the rain. But can’t be singled out.
NAVAS- 3/10
Strangely City’s best attacking outlet given he saw the maximum ball out on the right. But could not convert it into anything meaningful.
IHEANACHO- 2/10
Absolutely no presence up top. No match for Huth or Morgan. Does not possess pace or the skill to worry them and did not. But on a day like this, Aguero would not have been much of a difference.
