Bayern Munich are hoping to get back to winning ways as they take on Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday. Bayern have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, so this could logically be a dead rubber for the German Rekordmeister, but after a shocking 2-1 defeat to FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga, the Bavarians will be keen on restoring their winning momentum, ahead of the crucial weekend encounter against Arminia Bielefeld.
Predicted Bayern Munich Lineup Vs Dynamo Kyiv
Defence
Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t have to deal with too many injury issues heading into this game. His decision to rest Alphonso Davies on the weekend, though, turned out to be costly, and the German tactician certainly won’t replicate his mistake in midweek.
The Canadian international remains a guaranteed starter at left-back, while Benjamin Pavard may retain his role on the opposite flank, despite a disastrous display against Augsburg.
Niklas Sule is unlikely to be available, which means the central defensive pairing should remain unchanged as French duo Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano look to keep a clean sheet and cover Manuel Neuer in between the sticks.
Midfield
Joshua Kimmich won’t be available for this encounter which means Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann has a decision to make. While Leon Goretzka remains a guaranteed starter, who starts alongside him is the real question.
Marcel Sabitzer produced a horrendous display against Augsburg while Corentin Tolisso and Marc Roca have struggled with fitness and lack of game-time. As such, Nagelsmann may persist with Sabitzer, giving him a chance to recoup his confidence after a difficult start to his career at Bayern.
Attack
As for the attack, Nagelsmann might want to make a few changes. Leroy Sane hasn’t had a great couple of weeks, and in order to help him gain back confidence, the Bayern coach might continue to deploy him at left-wing.
However, Serge Gnabry may have to make way for Jamal Musiala on the opposite flank. The youngster has performed superbly well and deserves a chance to start, as he looks to form Bayern’s creative trifecta alongside Thomas Muller and Sane.
We could expect a cameo from the bench from both Kingsley Coman and Gnabry while the Bavarian attack is set to be spearheaded by none other than Robert Lewandowski.
