In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Barcelona have identified Juventus wide player Dejan Kulusevski as a target ahead of the winter transfer window. It has been revealed that the Catalan giants would have to pay Є40m if they intend to bring the Swedish wing wizard to the Nou Camp this January.
Kulusevski’s Growing Frustrations In Italian Football
Kulusevski has filled in as a squad player at the Allianz Stadium this season as most of his appearances have come off the bench. The 21-year-old has featured in 15 matches for the Turin outfit in this campaign, scoring one goal and providing one assist across all competitions.
The Swedish attacker has received most of his game time as a substitute which could be why he is only averaging 0.7 shots, 0.4 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he has even distributed the ball well in the attacking end of the pitch, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 80.9% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Barcelona Boss Xavi Get Kulusevski On Board?
Kulusevski is a quick and agile winger who can make some eye-catching runs with the ball down the right flank when he is playing with confidence on the field. He can create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third but the lack of game time has seen his numbers dry up in front of the opposition goal.
On his day, the Swedish wide player can be a real handful for most defenders, so it is worth it for Barca to take a chance on him when the transfer window commences at the start of next year. He has what it takes to rival Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele for a regular starting spot in Xavi‘s first team over the next few seasons.
At 21, the future is quite bright for the Swedish winger which makes him a good option for the Catalan club to pursue this winter. Thus, Xavi should try everything he can to get Kulusevski onboard either on loan or permanently during the January transfer window.
