West Ham United will lock horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday evening as they try to keep their good form going in the Premier League. The Hammers managed to secure a victory over Manchester City on penalties in the round of 16 stages of the EFL Cup in midweek.
David Moyes will stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and could make some changes to his first-team for this game. Both Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna are expected to play from the start while Craig Dawson and Issa Diop drop to the bench.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will function in goal for the Hammers after he earned a clean sheet against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Kurt Zouma will operate alongside Angelo Ogbonna at the heart of the West Ham backline as they hope to keep things solid at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Ben Johnson will fill in at right-back once again while Aaron Cresswell hopes to produce a productive display as the left-back. Moyes will ask his full-backs to get forward and join in on the attack whenever they can so that they can offer enough support to the front players.
Craig Dawson and Issa Diop will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the central defensive positions.
Midfield
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will anchor the midfield as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen will function just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack.
Mark Noble and Manuel Lanzini will be named on the bench and might come on to offer some energy to West Ham’s midfield in the second half if required.
Attack
Michail Antonio will be a guaranteed starter for West Ham in the centre-forward position. The English forward scored the only goal of the game in the London derby, so he will be full of confidence going into this Premier League game this weekend.
Andriy Yarmolenko will be available for selection on the bench but Alex Kral might miss out after testing positive with COVID-19 earlier this month.
