Real Madrid will be a buoyant side as they welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Santiago Bernabeu in what will be a pivotal match in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Real Madrid are currently in the 2nd spot with 2 points separating them with Dortmund.
Los Blancos haven’t had it easy this year and they have had to work extremely hard to be in a position from where they have a chance of qualifying as the 1st placed team. While Zidane and his men need a win, Borussia Dortmund will see themselves remain top with even a draw. This might lead to Real employing a more expressive and open approach.
They will not be short on confidence and will be buzzing right now after last minute header specialist Sergio Ramos got them a valuable point at the Nou Camp. The El Clasico might not have lived up to the sky-high expectations of the fans but Real Madrid were definitely the big winners of the day. They have moved 6 points clear of Barca and the form Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are in, bodes extremely well for them.
They will be facing an energised Borussia Dortmund side who are fresh off a resounding 4-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach and will be confident of managing to draw the game at the Bernabeu.
PREDICTED REAL MADRID LINE-UP VS BORUSSIA DORTMUND (4-3-3)
DEFENCE
Keylor Navas will be in goal and have to be at his best to keep out Dortmund. He was jittery in the previous leg against the same opponents and has to be more authoritative. Carvajal is unlikely to get a rest and will again have to line-up at right-back. There might be a change at the heart of the defence with Pepe most probably the man in to come in place of Varane. Sergio Ramos will be captaining the side with Marcelo at left-back.
MIDFIELD
Casemiro got some minutes off the bench and will most likely make his first start after coming back from injury. James Rodriguez will be hoping for a start after seeing little action this season while Modric is likely to start as the third midfielder.
ATTACK
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start and will look to add to his goals tally this season. He has scored quite a few important goals and will be backed to lead Real to the top of the group. Karim Benzema is likely to lead the attack with Alvaro Morata and option while Asensio will be on the right-flank.
