Leicester City succumbed to their third loss in four games when they were beaten by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Claudio Ranieri’s men now find themselves in the 15th place with 13 points from 14 games and in real trouble as the gap between them and the relegation zone dropped down to just two points now. Let’s take a look at how Ranieri’s men did in the game on a total of 10.
Zieler (6/10)
Couldn’t do anything for both the goals really as he was left helpless on both times.
Simpson (5/10)
Was given a hard time by Victor Anichebe and van Aanholt as they doubled up on him. Was a bit clumsy in his tackling and could’ve easily given away a penalty.
Huth (6/10)
Was at fault for the opening goal as he lost his man and ended up scoring an own goal even though he knew little about it. Was able to make 3 important blocks though
Morgan (5.5/10)
Put his body on the line while defending but couldn’t win a single tackle in the game. Looked vulnerable all through.
Fuchs (7/10)
Was one of the best players on the pitch for his team as the fullback provided something of substance going forward. Was poor in his tackling but showed good positioning to clear balls whipped into his own box.
Mahrez (5/10)
His dribbling allowed him to make inroads into dangerous positions but disappointed with his execution and also went missing in most parts.
Amartey (5/10)
Looks like a player who is not fit to play at this level. Offers no cover in front of the defence also looks to be very hesitant on the ball lacking tactical maturity in his choice of distribution.
King (7/10)
Passed the ball with purpose and was also convincing with his challenges. Played well but without any support, he failed to influence the game.
Albrighton (7/10)
Looked bright in the first half, completing his take ons as he created two chances for his teammates. Worked hard in the defensive phase as well making a very impressive 5 interceptions as a result.
Slimani (5/10)
Poor in his passing creating, unnecessary turnovers. Never looked threatening and had a bad game.
Vardy (5/10)
Another game without a goal. Looks short of confidence but to his credit, never stops working hard for the team or trying.
Subs
Okazaki (7/10)
Changed the game when he came on to the pitch. Showed his quality with a brilliant finish and superb movement to get his team back in the game.
Gray (6.5/10)
Nice change of pace to escape his man as he set up Okazaki for the only goal for the visitors.
Musa (5/10)
Looked a bit off on the day not being able to make any sort of impact as he usually does.
