It is understood that the Red Devils want to tie Lingard down to a new contract worth £130,000-a-week with his current deal about to expire at the end of next season (via The Daily Star).

The English playmaker recently enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at West Ham United as he managed to produce a run of eye-catching displays as a key member of David Moyes’ frontline. The Warrington-born talent banged in nine goals and secured five assists in 16 matches for the Hammers last season on all fronts.
The 28-year-old was a consistent performer at the London Stadium after he averaged 2.6 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He even distributed possession relatively well in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 83.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
The way Lingard has been playing of late, it makes a lot of sense for Man United to offer him a new deal as he could go on to become a regular starter at the Theatre of Dreams if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to give him a chance in the coming seasons.
