Recent reports from The Mirror suggest that Arsenal are keen on signing Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma in the upcoming transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks set to add to his options at the centre of the park.
The report further states that Bissouma is valued at around £40 million as he has two years remaining on his current contract.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, chief executive Paul Barber revealed that Brighton are ready to sell their star player if a suitable offer is put on the table.

Moreover, with 2.1 long balls played per game with an overall pass accuracy of 87.4%, he has turned out to be one of the standout performers of his side this term.
These numbers not only underline his capabilities of holding on to the ball or winning the ball back when needed but also how he can pick up the right man on the other side of the pitch to start counter-attacks effortlessly.

Mikel Arteta certainly needs to strengthen his defence before he can start investing in his side’s attack – and Bissouma fits the bill. He has established himself as one of the league’s best defensive midfielders with consistent performances over the past few seasons. He is capable of sensing the dangers quickly, and with attributes like strength and agility, he can earn the possession back for his side in his own half of the pitch.
At 24, the Mali international still has a lot to offer, so it won’t be a complete surprise if Arsenal break the bank to secure his signature.
