Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of Philippe Coutinho as the player is set to undergo a scan. The Brazilian was the victim of a challenge with Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong. He was taken off on a stretcher and could miss a couple of important games including the Merseyside derby and the clash against Manchester City.
The midfielder has been influential behind Liverpool’s phenomenal form in this season, having scored six goals and assisting another six in all competitions. Liverpool are currently level on 30 points with Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp earlier said, “Phil has his scans this afternoon. What I can say is that it’s too long because the best thing is that he’s not out. We have to take it how it is.” Coutinho could miss the rest of the year and this could be a big blow to the Reds.
Daniel Sturridge is still suffering from an injury while Adam Lallana who was absent in the last two games could be fit for the Bournemouth match.
