Everton will lock horns with Leeds United at Elland Road on Wednesday night as they try to pick up a positive result on the road. The Toffees suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle United last weekend which has halted their momentum heading into this league clash away at West Yorkshire.
Carlo Ancelotti will revert to a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first-team for this game. The Italian tactician might be inclined to hand Seamus Coleman a rest. Hence, Mason Holgate could get the nod to start in this game while Tom Davies comes into their midfield to give the Merseysiders an edge over the Whites in midweek.
4-3-3 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will operate in goal for the Toffees after conceding a couple of goals versus the Magpies in his last league outing. Michael Keane will continue to feature alongside Yerry Mina at the heart of Ancelotti’s defence as they focus on neutralising the threat of Leeds’ Patrick Bamford during the game.
Mason Holgate could operate as a makeshift right-back while Lucas Digne looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Digne will carry a lot of the creative workload for his team down the left flank.
As mentioned earlier, Seamus Coleman will be available for selection on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Midfield
The talented trio of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure will function in the Everton midfield. They will hope to keep hold of the ball at the centre of the park and create some decent chances for the front players.
Andre Gomes will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
Attack
Richarlison will be a nailed-on starter on the left-wing while James Rodriguez tries to weave his magic from the right flank. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will once again lead the charge for the Merseyside outfit down the middle.
Both Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon will make up the numbers on Ancelotti’s bench.
