Leicester City will clash heads with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening as they look to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Foxes suffered a poor 3-1 defeat at the hands of Leeds United last weekend which has halted their momentum going into this midweek clash on the road.
Brendan Rodgers could choose to stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and will be forced to make one change to his first-team for this game. Timothy Castagne picked up a hamstring injury versus the Whites that might keep him out of this clash against Scott Parker’s men. Hence, Ricardo Pereira could get a rare start at right-back while Caglar Soyuncu once again settles for a spot on the bench.
4-2-3-1 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will lineup in between the sticks for the Foxes after shipping in three poor goals versus the Whites last weekend. Jonny Evans will resume his defensive partnership with Wesley Fofana at the heart of Rodgers’ defence as they look to keep Fulham’s Ademola Lookman quiet throughout the 90 minutes.
As mentioned earlier, Ricardo Pereira will function at right-back in the injury absence of Timothy Castagne while James Justin fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Rodgers will give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the Fulham half.
Caglar Soyuncu and Christian Fuchs will make up the numbers on the Leicester bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans and Nampalys Mendy will once again assume the duties of the holding midfielders as they try to offer adequate protection for their teammates at the back. The hard-working trio of Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and Marc Albrighton will play just ahead of them as part of the Foxes attack.
Barnes managed to get his name on the scoresheet in a losing effort versus Leeds United, so he will once again carry a lot of the goal-scoring workload for his team, especially in the absence of Jamie Vardy.
Cengiz Under will have to be content with a place on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
Attack
Ayoze Perez will lead the line for the East Midlands outfit up top. He needs to find a way to bang in some goals and get some confidence back in his game. Kelechi Iheanacho will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine as an impact substitute in the second half if Rodgers decides to use his services.
