Newcastle United will entertain Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night hoping to pick up another positive result in the Premier League. The Magpies managed to secure an impressive 2-0 victory over Everton last weekend which will keep them in high spirits heading into this home encounter versus the Eagles.
Steve Bruce will probably opt for a 4-4-2 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first-team for this game. Joelinton might get a start in midweek at the expense of Ryan Fraser, who would drop to the bench.

Defence
Karl Darlow will function in goal for the Tyneside outfit after he kept a clean sheet at Goodison Park in his last league outing. Jamaal Lascelles will miss out on this game due to a hamstring injury, so Ciaran Clark will come into the side to feature alongside Fabian Schar at the heart of the Newcastle backline.
Javier Manquillo will operate at right-back while Jamal Lewis gets another chance to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will need to get forward and create some decent chances for the front players if the Magpies are to come out on top on Tuesday.
Emil Krafth will be available for selection on Bruce’s bench as he offers cover for the right-back position.
Midfield
Jonjo Shelvey will anchor the midfield along with Isaac Hayden as they try to dominate the battle at the centre of the park and find some holes in the Crystal Palace backline during the game. Miguel Almiron will get the nod to start on the left flank while Allan Saint-Maximin looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player.
Jeff Hendrick and Matty Longstaff will make up the numbers on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Joelinton could get another opportunity to partner Callum Wilson up top. Wilson managed to bag a brace versus the Toffees which was enough to hand his team all three points last weekend. The English striker will be full of confidence heading into this midweek clash at St. James’ Park.
