Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium earlier this evening hoping to pick up a victory and progress into the EFL Cup semifinals. Spurs made a bright start to the contest and took the lead in the 22nd minute courtesy of Gareth Bale’s goal. Jose Mourinho’s men kept a good shape at the back and went into the half-time break one goal to the good.
The Potters refused to give up without a fight in the second half and found the leveller via Jordan Thompson’s goal in the 53rd minute. However, Ben Davies found the back of the net just 17 minutes later to regain the Spurs’ lead. Harry Kane added another goal in the 81st minute to kill the game off for his side. The contest ended with the North London giants securing a comfortable 3-1 win away at Staffordshire.
