Arsenal can finally have their wish fulfilled as Wolfsburg have reportedly told Julian Draxler that he can leave the club if a suitable offer comes in.
Arsene Wenger has been targeting the player since he was at Schalke. The 23-year-old secured his move to Wolfsburg for a club record fee of € 36m last year. The German international can play on the wing and also in the more central attacking midfield role.
Paris Saint-Germain had offered a whopping £59 million for his services but the German side were very reluctant to let go of one of their key players. Draxler was Germany’s best player in the EURO 2016 and also impressed in the 2014 World Cup. He is yet to feature in this month as a muscle injury forced him out for a brief period.
Allofs said, “We’d evaluate it differently now and maybe give our approval the next time.
“The story did not help him, and it did not help VfL.”
