Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side fell to a shocking 1-0 defeat against mid-table outfit Southampton tonight, as a first-half goal from Che Adams turned out to be the difference between the teams. The former Birmingham City man was yet to open his Premier League account since making a move to the St.Mary’s, and he did it in sensational style by catching Ederson off his line and smashing in a curler from 40 yards. Despite extended periods of Manchester City pressure, they just couldn’t find the final touch in the Southampton box, owing to some determined defending from the Saints’ back-line.
