This turned out to be a masterstroke. The young Dutchman assisted on his league debut against Ross County and found the net next week versus Aberdeen at Pittodrie. The teenager, who joined from Manchester City on the summer deadline day, soon managed a regular first-team status due to his energetic and gallant display, marauding runs, crosses, cut insides and the ability to find the target.

His emergence must have alerted other clubs, and according to former Premier League and Scotland star Alan Hutton, there should be suitors for the Hoops sensation who has all the attributes of a modern-day fullback.
“Oh, 100 per cent. That’s the scouts for you – in Scottish football, they look far and wide, whether it be young players in youth teams or experienced players. That’s the way you have to be. You can find some diamonds in the rough and I think Rangers and Celtic have done very well over the past few years with them.”

Although these all are speculations and opinions at this stage, Lennon is well-aware of Frimpong’s potential. The youngster has featured 19 times so far for the Scottish champions and is touted to have a bright future with many more senior outings. It will be difficult for the club to keep hold of him for long, but the fans must enjoy the ride and witness him flourish further under the careful guidance of the Celtic chief.
