According to a recent statement that has been issued by Spanish super-club Barcelona, the Catalan giants have successfully acquired the signature of SC Braga’s Portuguese international right-wing starlet Francisco Trincao. The leggy 20-year-old is amongst the highest rated players in the entire continent at the moment and has been acquired by the Catalan side in a deal worth in the region of €31m.
The youngster is set to finish his campaign at the Portuguese side before he joins up with the Blaugrana squad in the summer at the end of the current season. The report suggests that the youngster would have a release clause of around €500m embedded into his contract at the Nou Camp and that his tenure at the Catalan outfit will last until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
How Did Francisco Trincao Make A Name For Himself?
Born in Viana Do Castelo in the winter of 1999, Francisco Trincao began his footballing career at Vianense and FC Porto before eventually finding his way to Portuguese giants Braga. The youngster joined the club in 2011 as a young boy and has since developed into one of their most prized possessions. The trickster gradually made his way up the ranks at the Liga NOS club, before eventually breaking into the first-team picture in 2018.
The youngster has featured across various levels of the Portuguese youth squads and currently plies his trade for the U21 division. He has made a total of 11 league appearances for Braga this season and has picked up a relatively decent return of two goals and two assists. The Portuguese starlet’s exploits have made him a real fan-favourite among the Braga faithful, and he has undoubtedly become an important part of their general system of play as well.

Adept at carrying the ball, the youngster has come to be renowned for his dribbling skills down the flanks. Despite being just 20, he displays excellent decision making in the final third and also has the confidence and talent to take defenders on and beat them. Originally a right-winger by position, Trincao is comfortable operating anywhere across the front line, making him an attractive prospect for a club like Barcelona.
