Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in goal for the Reds despite keeping just one clean sheet in the English top-flight this term. The Croatian defender performed well against Manchester City before the international break so he should be confident heading into this clash away at Selhurst Park.
Andrew Robertson is a major doubt for this encounter as he is struggling with an ankle problem. The Scottish full-back will be in a race against time to be fit for this weekend’s league match. If he fails to recover in time, then Klopp will have no choice but to deploy James Milner as a makeshift left-back.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a nailed-on starter at right-back following his impressive display versus the Citizens earlier this month. He will once again pose a significant threat to the opposition from dead-ball situations. The Reds need to keep a few shut-outs at the back as the front players can’t keep bailing them out every week.
Midfield
Liverpool could stick with their strongest midfield three of Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
