Leeds United will host Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road after winning their last tie against QPR. The Whites initially moved to the top of the table, but they are now on the third spot, two points behind table-toppers West Brom. The Whites will be keen to get some momentum going as they have had a stop-start kind of a season.
Their issue seems to be in front of goal, and they have the joint-worst goal-scoring record among the top 11 teams. Defensively, however, they have been solid as they have the best defensive record in the league. Bielsa would want his side to be more clinical in the attacking third. Blackburn Rovers are currently 16th on the table having won five games so far in the league.
Team News: Eddie Nketiah could be out for a month with a lower abdominal injury. It was really unlucky for the Arsenal youngster as he was in line to start against QPR. Jamie Shackleton is still struggling with his injury, and he is likely to miss out again. Adam Forshaw is also expected to be unavailable because of a hip issue. Barry Douglas is out with a knee injury. Ezgjan Alioski has a side strain, and his situation is also uncertain at the moment.
Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Blackburn Rovers
Formation (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Kiko Casilla could be banned in the future, but he is available for now to start in goal. Liam Cooper and Ben White should continue as the centre back partnership. Mr. versatile Stuart Dallas is expected to play at left-back with Alioski and Douglas both likely to miss out. Luke Ayling is expected to begin on the right side of the defence.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips will play in his usual defensive midfield role. Mateusz Klich has looked a bit off-colour of late, but Bielsa is likely to persist with him in midfield. Tyler Roberts has managed to catch the eye in the last few games, and he should begin in the attacking midfield role. Jack Harrison has also improved, and he is likely to continue on the left flank. Pablo Hernandez is expected to start ahead of Helder Costa on the right. Costa failed to take his chances in the absence of the Spanish attacker, and he could be dropped.
Attack
Patrick Bamford has now gone ten games without scoring, and he was fortunate to get another opportunity against QPR. He will look to make this lucky break count, and the Englishman is expected to start upfront with Nketiah being out.
