Aston Villa will entertain West Ham United at Villa Park on Monday night hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace before the international break. The Villans managed to win their last home game against Everton and will try to replicate a similar performance when they face-off versus Manuel Pellegrini’s men next week.
Steve Bruce is expected to opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation and will be forced to make one change for this clash. Anwar El Ghazi will start in place of Trezeguet who is suspended for this contest at the West Midlands.
4-1-4-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face West Ham United
Defence
Tom Heaton will lineup in goal for the Villans despite failing to keep a clean sheet against the Eagles in his last league outing. The centre-back pair of Björn Engels and Tyrone Mings have formed a solid partnership at the heart of Smith’s defence over the past few weeks. They will look to put in a commanding shift at the back to hopefully keep the Hammers at bay on Monday.
Frédéric Guilbert will operate as the right-back as he tries to be a decent outlet going forward. Neil Taylor will play on the other side in the left-back position. Both full-backs will be in for a tough outing as they will be up against West Ham’s Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko respectively.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will look to provide adequate protection for Villa’s backline as he operates in a defensive midfield role. John McGinn and Jack Grealish will play just ahead of him as they try to create some decent goal-scoring opportunities going forward.
Jota will hope to cause a lot of problems down the right flank as he looks to cut in and make an impact on the offensive end of the field. Anwar El Ghazi will come in to replace Trezeguet who is suspended for this clash after he received a red card against the Eagles last month.
Attack
Wesley Moraes will spearhead the Villans attack up top. The Brazilian striker managed to score in his last home outing against Everton, so he will be confident about his chances of repeating that feat on Monday night.
