The English Premier League has been blessed with some phenomenal strikers over the years. From Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry to Wayne Rooney and Dennis Bergkamp. We’ve seen it all. The good news is that the talent just keeps getting better. New tactics and positions mean that we see more goals than ever before.
The new season may have just begun, but the same old faces are up to their usual tricks. Mo Salah, Sergio Aguero, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have hit the back of the net on several occasions already. If you’re looking for the latest EPL betting tips, stay on this page. We’ll give you a full rundown of the most dangerous attackers in the league this season.
We’ll also include some players who have bags of potential. We’ve been surprised by Premier League newcomers Teemu Pukki and Tammy Abraham already. It would be foolish to rule them out of your top goalscorer wagers.
The Usual Suspects
Mo Salah – We’re starting to run out of superlatives for the Egyptian attacker. His first season at Anfield was a joy to behold, but he’s proved that he’s much more than a one-season wonder. Salah has broken numerous club records and won the Champions League trophy during his two seasons with the Reds. As he enters his third, he looks hungrier than ever before. If he can stay injury-free, Salah will be among the top goalscorers in May.
Sergio Aguero – The Argentine striker has made Man City fans smile with glee since he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011. He’s also cemented his name in the history books after scoring more than 170 club goals. ‘Kun’ as he’s affectionately referred to, has been a pivotal part of Man City’s team for years. History suggests that he’ll be fighting for the Premier League Golden Boot once again.
Raheem Sterling – Man City are fortunate enough to have two of the best players in the EPL leading their line. It’s an attacking lineup that instantly sends fear into defensive players. Raheem Sterling is arguably the best forward in the league at the minute. The England international had an incredible season last year and looks like he’s ready to do it once again.
Harry Kane – Kane has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League over the last few seasons. The 26-year-old Tottenham striker can score with his right foot, left foot, and head. He makes it all look incredibly easy. If he can stay fit for the duration of the EPL season, we expect him to be near the top of the goalscorer charts.
Surprise Package
Teemu Pukki – Finnish striker Teemu Pukki has been a revelation for newly promoted Norwich City. The Canaries’ number 22 has quickly adapted to life in the Premier League. In fact, he looks like he’s been doing it for years. The Premier League Golden Boot might just be out of his reach, but we think he can finish in the top five or six positions.
