Celtic will travel to the Pittodrie Stadium to take on Aberdeen this weekend, and a draw would be enough to secure the title irrespective of the result Rangers manage from their fixture. This will be the sixth time these two teams would be squaring up against each other this season and Celtic have so far managed to win all barring one goalless encounter.
The Dons have lost their way in the last few months, and they are now 11 points behind Rangers. They would love to get one over Celtic especially at home. The reigning Premiership champions had inflicted defeat on Aberdeen in both the domestic cups and Derek McInnes’ side will be keen on revenge. The Hoops are on track to achieving another treble even though their goals have dried up in the past one odd month.
Team News
Kieran Tierney is back in training, but Lennon might not risk him for this game. Dedryck Boyata is out for the season. Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi have continued to be long term absentees.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Aberdeen
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Scott Bain has continued as the no. 1 in goal, and he should start in between the sticks once again. He should be protected by the centre back pairing of Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic. The duo is forming a strong partnership, and both of them could be crucial for Celtic in the future.
Emilio Izaguirre is expected to start as a left back in the absence of Tierney. Mikael Lustig is likely to start over January signing Jeremy Toljan in the right-back role.
Midfield
The trusted duo of Callum McGregor and Scott Brown should start in the middle of the park. Both of them compliment each other well as McGregor looks to influence the play by moving the ball forward and Brown shields the back four and does all the nitty-gritty job in midfield.
Tom Rogic is likely to start in the no. 10 role behind the striker. Celtic’s player of the season contender James Forrest is expected to operate from the right flank. We would like to see Lennon give Timothy Weah a go from the left side ahead of Scott Sinclair.
Attack
One can understand why Oliver Burke was struggling to get game time at West Brom earlier in the season as his form has dipped big time in the past month or so. Therefore there is no doubt that Odsonne Edouard would lead the line for the Hoops in this away clash.
