Everton will play hosts to Burnley at Goodison Park on Friday night at the back of a scoreless draw versus Crystal Palace last weekend. The Toffees are playing some of the best football of their campaign thus far and so we can expect another strong showing from them later this week.
Marco Silva could be inclined to stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and might name an unchanged side for this clash.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Jordan Pickford is expected to begin the contest in goal for the Merseysiders after he has managed to keep two back to back clean sheets against Manchester United and Crystal Palace respectively. Both Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma will be asked to feature as the centre-halves as they look to keep things tidy at the back while up against Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes. Hence, the Toffees defenders cannot afford to get complacent later this week or else the Clarets attackers might punish them.
Séamus Coleman will look to continue his excellent run of form at the right-back position while Lucas Digne will try to use his attacking instincts to cause a few problems for the Burnley defenders down the left flank.
Marco Silva’s backline has kept six shut outs in their past eight outings in the Premier League and so we can expect another low scoring contest on Friday night.
Midfield
The hard-working pair of Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin could feature as the holding midfielders as they try to breakdown the Burnley attacks while also attempting to feed balls to the Everton forwards up front. The terrific trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison could be deployed just ahead of them as part of the Toffees attack.
Bernard has enjoyed a fantastic run of form and thus we can expect the Brazilian winger to wreak havoc in the final third.
Andre Gomes is still suspended for this encounter and so James McCarthy could play a part in this game from the bench if required.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Merseyside outfit up front. Even though he has not been prolific in terms of scoring goals, the English youngster more than makes up for his shortcomings by working his socks off on the pitch. Cenk Tosun might get a chance to influence the game if the home side are in need of a goal in the second half.
