Jose Mourinho insisted that Manchester United supporters won’t repeat the same thing what England fans did. Rooney was booed by the England supporters during England’s match against Malta in a World Cup Qualifier.
Jose Mourinho benched Rooney for the past three games. United will face Liverpool at Anfield on Monday and the Portuguese sounded confident that United supporter will be respectful towards the 30-year old.
“He was not booed by Man United fans. To be honest, the last match when he went to the warm-up I was feeling Old Trafford was behind him and immediately supporting him during the warm-up before he came on against Stoke.”
Rooney has been struggling to get back to form in this season. He has managed to score only one goal so far.
Jose went on to add, “I think at Man United he feels at home, at Man United he feels the respect he deserves. Not at Anfield, obviously, but he knows that here he is respected.”
