Manchester United is slowly edging towards the much-anticipated transfer of Antoine Griezmann. The French attacker is currently plying his trade with Atletico Madrid.
Griezman has been heavily linked with United for the past couple of days. The French player has a release clause of £80m and Jose Mourinho is ready to break the bank for the youngster. United reportedly held talks with Atleti over a potential transfer.
The attacker had signed a new five-year contract in June but if a good offer comes in he could reconsider his future. Moreover presence of a large number of French players at United could compel him to move.
Another reason could be that recently Atletico boss Diego Simeone had reduced his contract by two years. The 25-year old had said that he took Simeone’s approval before extending his contract as he is an avid admirer of him. But with Simeone choosing to cut back his contract, Griezmann might opt to look for an alternate option.
