Everton will clash heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday hoping to continue their recent good form in the Premier League. The Toffees come into this clash at the back of an emphatic 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend which should give them some hope of claiming a result against the Pensioners.
Marco Silva will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and might name Yerry Mina in his first-team for the first time since his move from Barcelona earlier this year.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Jordan Pickford would take his place in goal for the Blues of Merseyside while Maarten Stekelenburg has to be content with a place on Marco Silva’s bench. The defensive duo of Michael Keane and Yerry Mina could be deployed at the centre of the Toffees backline in the absence of Phil Jagielka who is still out of action with an injury.
Lucas Digne would play on the left side of the Everton defence as he looks to cope with the threat of Willian and Cesar Azpilicueta. Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman will operate as the right-back, but he would have a lot of defending to do than usual with an in-form Eden Hazard set to go up against him this weekend.
There is no doubt that the Everton defenders would be in for a difficult day out away at Stamford Bridge but they are more than capable of keeping the Chelsea attackers at bay, especially with Mina in their side.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye would operate as a defensive midfielder alongside Andre Gomes who is expected to link up play between the defence and the attack. It is expected that the talented trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurðsson and Theo Walcott might start as part of the Toffees attack in the opposition half. Silva might give them the freedom to express themselves away at West London so they would need to be more productive in the attacking third.
Sigurdsson has been in a rich vein of form of late which should give the Toffees some confidence going into this clash.
Attack
Richarlison seems to have adapted well to his new role as a central striker so the Brazilian sensation might be asked to lead the lines again for Everton up top. He found the back of the net twice in the previous gameweek which shows how deadly he can be inside the opposition box.
