Arsenal were able to keep their 100 per cent record in the Europa League intact as they went onto win their contest against Sporting Lisbon by 1-0. Now they are set to face challenges on the home front as they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.
The Gunners have now won 11 games in a row and are in fine form. The Eagles, on the other hand, are coming off a disappointing loss against Everton and would be looking to get maximum points out of their next match. The match is taking place at Selhurst Park, and so it is not going to be an easy outing for Unai Emery’s side.
Team News
It is good news for Arsenal as veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech is fit for selection. Centre back Sokratis Papastathopoulos also made his comeback into the side in the match against Sporting Lisbon after a short injury layoff. However, players like Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac are still on the injury list.
Goalkeeper
Though Bernd Leno kept a clean sheet against Sporting, Petr Cech is expected to regain his place in the Arsenal lineup for the next match.
Defence
Sokratis is a cemented starter in the heart of the backline with the experienced Shkodran Mustafi. Rob Holding would hopefully be getting a much deserved rest. Hector Bellerin, who was rested against Sporting, will come back in the side to feature in the right back position. Stephan Lichtsteiner will start in the left back position after his decent show in the match against Leicester City.
Midfield
Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka will be the ones to start the proceedings in the midfield for the Gunners. Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be featuring on the right-hand side of the midfield while Alex Iwobi should get the nod to feature on the left. Mesut Ozil, who was rested for the Europa League clash, is set to make his return to the starting eleven in the attacking midfield position.
Attack
After Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s lacklustre performance in the match against Sporting, Alexandre Lacazette should get the nod to lead the line for the Gunners.
Predicted Formation: 4-2-3-1
