As reported by the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, winger Adama Traore of Middlesbrough has caught the attention of Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner, as he looks to lure the Spaniard to the John Smith’s Stadium. With Stoke City’s capture of Tom Ince from the Terriers, Wagner believes that the 22-year-old Traore would be the ideal replacement.
Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis confessed that his club would not be able to keep Traore away from the likes of Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers or Paris Saint-Germain if the clubs are to approach for his signature. However, it is now being reported that Wagner’s Huddersfield are keen to capitalize on the situation and are prepared to lure Traore away from the Boro. The Terriers will be setting a new club transfer record if the winger is to join their establishment.
Adama Traore is versatile in nature, as the right winger can also be deployed in the centre of the park, performing the duties of a right midfielder. His blistering pace and speed on the ball make him a nightmare for defenders to cope with. At 22, he has a lot of room for further development and a move to the Premier League from the Championship will provide Traore with that opportunity.
He can put both feet to good effect as he cuts in from the flank and rifles a shot at goal. He can also keep his composure when looking for an unmarked team-mate before picking out the pass as he lays up a delicious opportunity to grab a goal. He is powerful and is hard to shrug-off while running with the ball.
The Terriers’ manager will hopefully be unfazed by the price-tag of the Spanish Under-21 star as he looks to strengthen his team ahead of the upcoming season. Huddersfield Town had a decent run in the league last season as the Premier League newcomers finished the season sitting in 16th place, 4 points clear of the relegation zone. Not many gave them a chance to survive the drop, but Wagner defied the impossible and stirred the Terriers to safety. Squad depth along with bringing in the correct replacements will be key to their survival next season.
If a deal is to fall in place, Huddersfield Town will be gaining a fantastic player in Adama Traore and one can be sure that he will set the top tier of English football ablaze.
