However, it is rumored today that the German international, who has been integral to Arsenal’s chances at the top of the table, might make a big U-turn in the contract situation. It is revealed that his former club Real Madrid are ready to pounce for him, but with a £200,000 a-week mega-deal on the table at the Emirates, it will be hard for Ozil to decide on his future.
Ozil is obviously a player good enough to walk into the Real Madrid side. He has become a better player than the one that left the capital in 2013 and has been one of the most important weapons in the Gunners’ arsenal in their search for glory. He has broken a number of records at the Emirates, becoming the player with the most number of chances created in a season. He also broke his personal record for most passes in a game and at 27, he is reaching the best part of his career. That is why it will be important for Ozil to think long before making a move.
Surely, he has not won enough silverware for his quality since his move to the Premier League but he is the most important player in the side alongside Alexis Sanchez in Wenger’s hunt for glory. At his age, the German international will want to play every game every week and will only get better the more game time he gets. At the Emirates, the whole attack of his side his built around him and his former La Liga counterpart. However, in Spain, Ozil will have to fight his way back into the team.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema will be regular starters for the side while Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have been superb in the midfield. Zinedine Zidane has used Casemiro as a deep-lying midfielder or has gone to Isco and Asensio for an attacking option.
Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez are two stars who are not getting regular game time and Ozil will only add to the hardships of the manager. He will surely not get enough chances to have an impact like he can at the Emirates.
A German news outfit revealed that Ozil would like to see more transfer activity at the club in terms of star purchases before signing a new contract. So it looks like the German genius wants to win some trophies and is ready to work hard for them at his present club.
His move back to Real Madrid, as romantic as it may sound, has a great chance of failing and Ozil, who is will have to leave something exciting at Arsenal, cannot take that risk at this time in his career.
