Alvaro Morata who was re-signed by Real Madrid for £23m is on the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal. Morata is reportedly unhappy at not getting much game time.
Chelsea has been chasing the Spaniard for a long time. In a recent interview, Morata revealed that Antonio Conte wanted him at Chelsea and had even made a £60m bid for him but he rejected it to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. Chelsea went on to sign Michy Batshuayi for £33m from Marseille. According to reports, Conte also had a bid rejected for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
Conte has been a long admirer of the striker. Morata flourished under his guidance when he was at the helm at Juventus and went on to score 27 goals in 93 appearances for the Turin-based club.
Morata has barely started for Madrid this season. Conte is considering a squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer window. If the situation continues, a bid from Chelsea could tempt the 23-year-old to reconsider his future.
