Marco Silva is about to embark upon a journey that could potentially make him one of the most respected managers in the game. He has taken over the managerial charge at Everton from Sam Allardyce and is making ambitious moves in the transfer market this summer. One such star player Everton are constantly being linked with is Kieran Tierney.
A transfer target for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth, Tierney is probably one of the best young left-backs currently in the game. He broke into the senior side at Celtic in 2014 and just a year later, found himself starting regularly in the top flight.
Under Brendan Rodgers, he is one of the first names on the team sheet and he only polished his reputation, with some superb performances in the group stages of the Champions League last season. He is strong and athletic, can deliver accurate crosses and is a hard man to ark. He is happy to put in the yards and is technically astute, making him a huge asset for the Celts.
At just 22, he has already mastered the art of hold up play and is also strong in the air. He takes up smart positions in both boxes and is an intelligent player, who has a bright future ahead of him.
He already has 77 Premiership appearances and has featured in 9 matches for his nation. The Scottish starlet has gathered enough exposure at the highest level to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. The Toffees have Leighton Baines as their first choice left back at the moment with Cuco Martina providing backup to the English defender. However, Baines is now 33 and thus it makes sense for them to sign a prospect like Tierney as his long-term replacement. The Scottish ace can spend time with Baines and gain more experience, before playing every week in England.
It is understood that Celtic are ready to let him leave for £25m and Everton are the front-runners for his signature. However, reports today claim that the Toffees are on the verge of walking away from a potential deal for Tierney, as they are not ready to meet his valuation.
It is revealed that Everton have already started pursuing alternatives and refuse to be pulled into a bidding war for the fullback this summer. Albeit, there are very few players with such potential and experience available in the transfer market at the moment so it makes no sense for the Toffees to look elsewhere.

They are better off meeting Celtic’s asking price, as sealing a move for Tierney will solve the left-back problem at the club for years to come. He is a long-term investment and at £25m, is an absolute steal for the Merseyside outfit. Do you think the price is too steep for Everton?
